Cody Crowley · Practice Group Attorney

Cody Crowley represents North Texas homeowners, condominium and townhome associations, and HOAs in construction defect claims against the builders, developers, and contractors responsible for defective work. He opened Meyer | Shumrick’s Dallas office in 2026, bringing the firm’s trial-first practice to Texas.

Cody grew up in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. Before law, he worked in Plano as a licensed insurance agent for one of the largest carriers in the country, learning from the inside how insurers write policies, evaluate claims, and decide what to pay and what to fight. He now turns that knowledge to the property owner’s advantage, anticipating how the other side will value and defend a case before they make their first move.

At Meyer | Shumrick, Cody has learned and litigated construction defect cases directly under founders Jean Meyer and Michael Shumrick, building on the same trial-first approach and case preparation the firm is known for. He now brings that training to Texas, opening the Dallas office as the firm’s presence in one of the country’s busiest construction markets. It is the same practice, the same standards, extended to North Texas.

He earned his Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University, where he was recognized for top grades and for extensive volunteer work with the Legal Aid Society, providing free legal services to low-income individuals and families. Born in Great Falls, Montana, the state where Meyer | Shumrick was founded, and raised in North Texas, Cody builds the firm’s Texas practice in the community he calls home.
